Simply Strauss
Choreographer: Paul Boyd
"Simply Strauss" is really a 'spoof' on the world of classical ballet. The egotistical ballerinas wanting to have their partners all to themselves and willing to fight like rugby players to achieve this. A tongue in cheek send up, using many cliches from the pure classical repertoire.

Life Really is Just a Bowl of Cherries
Choreographer: Paul Boyd
This piece was inspired by the wonderful music and lyrics from the American musical "Fosse". This piece pays homage to the wonderful world of music theatre.

Artist's Dream
Choreographer: Beverley Waters
This is a charming piece which depicts the artist falling asleep and dreaming that his picture comes to life.
COPPELIA
20th May 2006 The Adelaide Festival Centre The Festival Theatre |
|
Choreographer: Paul Boyd
Artistic Director: Beverley Waters
Preparations are under way in an all girls Performing Arts School for the latest project a “Dance Styles of the World” exhibition.
Among
the costumes is the ballerina costume Coppelia which
is
Librarian, Ms. Ita Atholthwaite's
favourite.
Having discovered the senior students with mobile phones on the school grounds,
she quickly confiscates them much to the girls
disgust.
One girl, Sophie, hid her mobile and proceeds to call her boyfriend, Luke who is from the local all boys school. Luke is told of the mobile dilemma and explains his plan of slipping a sleeping tablet into Ms. Atholthwaite's cup of tea with the aid of a girl pretending to be sick so that the students can enter their teacher’s office and retrieve their mobiles.
The plan succeeds and much havoc is made of the well kept library. When Ms. Atholthwaite awakens and discovers what has happened to her beloved Coppelia costume, it is simply too much for her to take. The students realizing their terrible mistake, try to apologize to their well meaning teacher by dancing a special performance for her.
Sophie, in the Coppelia costume, partnered by Luke, and the other students in all the costumes from the exhibition, perform to a much elated Ms. Atholthwaite.
All is forgiven and our ballet ends on an extremely happy note!
Images coming soon ...

T'was the Night Before Christmas
Choreographer: LINA
LIMOSANI
Synopsis: Choreographed for ADT's Ignition 3 Project, Lina Limosani has reworked "T'was the Night before Christmas for the SACBC in 2004.
The basic tale of the work play on the adventures of children on the night before Christmas. Their sneaky and secretive behaviour will draw you in and the unexpected endings will leave you laughing.
It is all about their characters, the disappointment. They are not to be heard, seen, or even smelt, their actions are humorous and their expressions priceless.
Clara's Arctic Dream
Choreographer: ANTON
Synopsis: Clara's Arctic Dream is a reworking of the ADT in-house season Ignition 2 Kalt (Cold Dreams Warm Heart). The work gets its inspiration from the snow scene in Nutcracker, The whimsical romantic nature of gliding, sliding and dancing amongst an arctic setting.
The richness and wealth comes not from the setting in Clara's Arctic Dream, but comes in abundance from the cast members' individual expression amongst the oblique references to the snow scene.
"I have tried to challenge the children of all ages of the SACBC in as many ways as possible. Please enjoy the many Clara's. Thank you SACBC for giving my heart time to glow". Anton
